CHROM-ART Presents TRIBE16 Alternative Art Festival

From the TRIBE16 event website:

Featuring over 120 international and UK-based artists from the world of contemporary art, music, dance and performance this is a family friendly ‘living exhibition’ encouraging cross-disciplinary collaboration among artists from different backgrounds. The energy-fuelled weekend includes FREE access for visitors to all activities.

Conceived as an immersive multicultural festival engaging a diversity of art forms including 2D art works, sculpture, dance, graffiti, art installation, video and performance, #TRIBE16 will be held the first weekend of October in one of the most exciting venues in the heart of London. We return to 47/49 Tanner Street, a spectacular 12,000 sq.ft Victorian warehouse spanning over 3 floors and 5 different areas that will become a utopian space where notions of physicality and the limitations associated with it will be challenged through a dense network of multiple human relations and energies.

Artists will be inviting visitors to take part in a variety of activities and seeking lively interaction with the public. Opening up new encounters, establishing a sense of community that goes beyond geographical limitations, #TRIBE16 becomes a playground for artists across genre where the multi-layered relationship between space and identity will be constantly tested.

The headline performance in our Private View, sponsored by Amigos Beer, is ‘Pattern Regression’, an installation performance based on the recent groundbreaking dance production, ‘Pattern Recognition’, a collaboration between choreographer Alexander Whitley and digital artist Memo Akten. A motion-responsive system of moving lights developed by Akten surround a solo dancer, tracking and reacting to their movements in real time. In doing so, a kinetic dialogue is established between man and machine.

One of the most influential new projects in the Spanish cultural scene, LA JUAN Gallery, pioneer of the first gallery fully dedicated to live art in Madrid, is coming to London to present their unique immersive experience ‘Action per Sq. Metre’, a collaboration between Spanish and UK actors and performers. Get ready to be surprised, maybe shocked, and definitely fully entertained!.

Multi award winning Ithaca Audio presents their jaw dropping installation ‘The Storm’, an audio reactive installation exploring natural thunder soundscapes and light diffusion. Sixteen feet of cloud covering spreads from ceiling to floor that conceals over 6,000 individually coded LED lights in this walk around immersive audio visual experience. Ithaca Audio will be also closing the Festival their incredible 3D mapping video mash-ups that have made them so popular.
